Mountain-Hiking: This link was submitted by Mountain-Hiking is a great blog that summarize trips to peaks in the Catskills, Taconics and Adirondacks. The site is very clean and well thought out. The author includes trails that do not lead to high peaks but are interesting and rewarding. The trails have a great mix of verbal and pictorial description. You will also find information on equipment and other interesting topics.

AnyPlaceAmerica: This link was submitted by AnyPlaceAmerica for their website. I don't normally list website promoted by the website but this one seems to be a good one. This website categorizes topo maps, points of interest and places to visit by first breaking them down into water, land and manmade. Points on interest within each of these categories are further broken down into type like forest, woods, summits and valley. Within each of these types the points of interest are grouped by state.
